The Shubert Theatre is located in New Haven, Connecticut, with a seating capacity of 1,600. The venue originally opened in 1914 under the Shubert Organization, and designed by New York architect Albert Swazey. The Connecticut Association for the Performing Arts, a non-profit organization, currently runs the theater. Aside from the Broadway shows that the theater hosts, other events include dance, cabaret, and family entertainment, as well as educational and outreach programs available to all members of the community.
